OUR FAVORITE IN ATLANTA  VIA RESTAURANT

262 Pharr Rd. Atlanta, GA 30305,  (404) 214-5404  http://www.viarestaurant.net

So we've been hearing about this place for a while now and while on our radar screen, hadn't had a chance to check it out.  Well, we did and we absolutely love it.  A great menu, excellent music, a lively crowd, late night dancing and great staff. In fact we liked it so much that we posted three pictures of the venue here and are going to feature it on Nightlyfe TV Venues shortly. It's a bit of a see-and-be-seen crowd, and yes, there's a velvet rope, but the atmosphere is far from posh, but rather relaxed chic. The Menu is supposed to be Modern Italian and there are plenty of tasty dishes. But this is more popular for its vibe than its quality cuisine, so swing by a little later when the crowd and scene picks up and opt for their excellent pizza choices. While you sway amongst the folks and take in the sounds.

Located in Buckhead, This venue definitely stepped up in terms of its design, and fittings. Nice clean lines, functional and comfortable furniture, mood lighting and solid sound system. And we like the website too.

FEATURE Cachaça

Pronounced "KA SHA SA", Cachaça is made from sugar cane plant like rum. It is made from fresh sugarcane juice that's fermented and distilled. Cachaça is the national spirit of Brazil. It is also the key ingredient in Brazilian traditional cocktail, caipirinha.

Caipirinha
Pronounced 'KIE-PUR-REEN-YAH', this fresh, exotic cocktail is becoming as hot among international crowds as it is on Copacabana Beach. The traditional caipirinha blends Cachaça, sugar cane, lime juice and ice. Traditional Caipirinha is made with Cachaça, sugar, and crushed limes, served over ice. It is always muddled (crushed with a masher or the blunt end of a wooden spoon). Make sure to muddle in a shaker or a sturdy, non-breakable glass. You can also try replacing lime with about 1/2 cup of fresh tangerine, star fruit, passion fruit, peach, pear, pineapple, plum, orange, mango, grape, guava, figs, etc.
